Fire Alarms for Business: What the Law Requires
Who is required to have a fire alarm, what systems exist and how to prepare for inspection.
Georgian fire safety regulations require commercial and public buildings to have a fire alarm system — this covers retail, offices, hotels, educational and medical facilities.
Conventional or addressable?
A conventional system divides the building into zones — you know the zone, not the exact detector. It's ideal for small and medium sites. An addressable system monitors each detector individually and is a must for large buildings.
What a complete system includes
Control panel, smoke and heat detectors, manual call points on escape routes, sounders and strobes, backup power. The design must match the building's area, floors and purpose.
Preparing for inspection
The system must be operational and documentation complete: design, installation acts, test protocols. We prepare all documents and provide scheduled testing under a service contract.
